Broadband Internet (FTTH)
End-to-end flow for activating a residential FTTH broadband service, from online address serviceability check through order capture with appointment booking, truck roll installation, OLT/ONT activation, speed profile application, billing start, and early-life line monitoring.
Architecture Overview
Residential FTTH delivers broadband over a GPON/XGS-PON fibre network. An ONT at the customer premises connects to the OLT in the exchange via passive splitters. The BNG/BRAS terminates subscriber sessions and applies speed profiles and QoS.
Customer Premises
Home devices connect via Wi-Fi router to the ONT. The ONT terminates the fibre and provides Ethernet/Wi-Fi to the home.
ONT (CPE)
Optical Network Terminal installed at the premises. Operator-supplied, configured via TR-069/ACS. Bridges fibre to Ethernet.
PON Access Network
GPON/XGS-PON with passive splitters (1:32/1:64). Shared downstream bandwidth, TDMA upstream. OLT at the exchange headend.
BNG & Core
BNG/BRAS terminates PPPoE/IPoE sessions, applies speed profiles via RADIUS, and routes to the internet. AAA authenticates subscribers.
Services & Internet
DNS, DHCP, TR-069 ACS for ONT management, billing/mediation, and internet peering for upstream connectivity.
