End-to-end flow for provisioning IoT connectivity for a 10,000-device GPS tracking fleet, from enquiry through private APN and VPN setup, bulk HSS provisioning, PCRF/OCS shared pool configuration, zero-touch eSIM activation, CMP handover, and fleet-level anomaly detection.
Architecture Overview
IoT fleet connectivity provisions 10,000 devices on a dedicated APN with a private VPN back to the enterprise. The mobile core (HSS/PCRF/OCS) handles subscriber profiles and shared data pooling. A Connectivity Management Platform (CMP) provides enterprise self-service.
IoT Devices (×10k)
GPS trackers with LTE Cat-M1 modems and MFF2 SIMs. Devices auto-attach on power-up via zero-touch activation.
Radio & IoT Core
Cat-M1/NB-IoT radio access. Dedicated IoT APN on the packet core (PGW/UPF) isolates fleet traffic from consumer.
Private APN + VPN
IPsec VPN tunnel from PGW to customer's fleet platform. All device traffic encrypted in transit, never touches public internet.
HSS / PCRF / OCS
HSS stores 10k IMSI profiles. PCRF enforces per-device QoS and ceilings. OCS manages the 500 GB shared data pool in real time.
CMP & eSIM
Connectivity Management Platform (Jasper/Ericsson) for self-service lifecycle. SM-DP+ for eSIM profile management.
